TIM PEEK, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER,

(Session 3) Over the last decade, Tim Peek has helped lead larger organizational change at NBC News as it moves from traditional ways of producing, distributing and telling stories to ways more in line with a web-dominated mediascape. The past several years have been devoted to new media and organizational change at NBC News. Peek founded a new media production studio within the news division at NBC (NBC NextMedia) that does everything from create web extra content for NBC News shows like Dateline, The studio also creates non-fiction web shows for other NBCU outlets, news stories for Today and Nightly News online and on air). 

Laura Suchoski, Social Media manager, Espnw

(Session 1) Laura Suchoski manages social media for espnW, ESPN's new brand that targets female sports fans and athletes. Her passion for being creative runs high, and for sports, even higher. She played field hockey as a four-time All-American at Duke and member of the U.S. National Team for six years. Prior to joining ESPN in 2010, Laura freelanced for the company and wrote numerous articles, while working in advertising in New York City. She currently lives in Mamaroneck, New York and loves coaching field hockey and exploring the outdoors in her free time. 

Paula Clancey, A&E Networks

(Session 4) After graduating from Quinnipiac in 2008 with a bachelors degree in Media Studies, Clancey has been working in media research for four years. She started on the agency side working for cable network and advertising clients and have since moved to A+E Networks, where she has been for the last two years. 

BRIAN KELLY, editor, ESPN.com,   COLLEGE GROUP

(Session 7) Brian Kelly holds two degrees from Quinnipiac University, a BA in Mass Communications ('99) and an MS in e-Media ('02). He is also a member of Quinnipiac's School of Communications Advisory Board. His first media job was an internship for WKCI's morning show in Hamden, Conn.  Following his junior year, he joined ESPN Radio in Bristol, Conn., primarily writing the network's expanded SportsCenter. After four years in radio, he moved over to ESPN.com. He's held a variety of editorial jobs at .com including Team Pages and the Newsdesk. The past six years he's been an editor in the Colleges Group, covering football and basketball. He is also a member of the Football Writers Association of America.

Stephen R. Kennedy, ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT, PROSEK PARTNERS

(Session 2) Stephen R. Kennedy is an associate vice president with Prosek Partners, one of the nation’s leading independent public relations firms and a top five financial communications agency. He joined the team in 2006 and has represented some of the nation’s leading financial institutions including State Street, Edward Jones, Franklin Templeton, Envestnet Asset Management, ITG, Torus Insurance, Swiss Reinsurance and Phoenix Companies. With a specialty in asset management, retirement services and insurance seeks to provide strategic communication counsel as it pertains to brand management, executive positioning and thought leadership to each account he services.

KATIE RICHMAN, strategy and social media leader, ESPn

(Session 1) Katie Richman leads strategy and execution for espnW's social media integrations, in addition to collaborating on ESPN-wide social media strategy. Prior to working with espnW, Katie spent four years in ESPN Event Production, with roles in X Games production management and the Event Production Business Unit. Richman is a graduate of Providence College, and began her television career with roles at MTV Networks & Oxygen.

Jake daubenspeck, senior account executive, prosek partners

(Session 2) Daubenspeck joined Prosek Partners in 2009 as a financial services public relations specialist. Jake has extensive experience in delivering strategic counsel and media results for clients including GE Capital, NASDAQ OMX, Ally Bank and Swiss Re. His responsibilities include day-to-day account strategy and execution, including managing media relations with national, trade and local press, developing editorial content and press releases, creating public relations plans and campaigns, and event coordination. Daubenspeck is also an internship program coordinator for Prosek and manages the company's Twitter account, working with social media teams across the agency. He graduated from Penn State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and PR and a Sociology minor.

ADAM KALOUSTIAN, VP OF CURRENT SERIES

(Session 6) Adam Kaloustian is the VP of Current Series at 3Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA, where he oversees a number of television series and pilots. Previously he worked as a Showrunner/Co-Executive Producer at Shine America, formally known as Reveille, producing several shows and most notably, the hit NBC series, "The Biggest Loser." He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Kimberly, a Quinnipiac graduate who studied Physical Therapy and currently works at Children¹s Hospital Los Angeles, and his two children, Sofia, 3, and Sadie, 1-1/2.

Anna Raso, executive assistant, anderson live

(Session 4) Anna Raso is currently the Executive Assistant to the Co-Executive Producer and Supervising Producers for Anderson Cooper's nationally syndicated daytime talk show, "Anderson Live". In this role, she is in charge of maintaining the production schedule as well as acting as a liaison between the senior staff and the different departments.  Anna started with the show as a Production Runner/PA in January 2012. She graduated from QU in 2011 with a degree in Media Studies and Management. During her time at QU, Anna also gained experience in radio production through an internship Cox Communications and in news production through an internship with Time Warner's NY1. She plans to continue pursuing a career in television production management of lifestyle media.

GEORGE SLOAN, Writer
"HOw I MET YOUR MOTHER"

(Session 6) Sloan graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2004 and began working as a production assistant on various Boston-based films and TV shows.  In 2006, he moved to Los Angeles, where he continued working as a PA, eventually ending up working for the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother."  He was promoted to writers' assistant and, after four years on the show, Sloan was given the opportunity to write an episode, entitled (ironically) "No Pressure."  His second episode, entitled "Weekend at Barney's" will air on Feb. 25.    


JOHN KELLEY, NBC SPORTS, SCREENWRITER
MEDIA RESEARCH AND digital ANALYSIS

(Session 4) John Kelley (’10) utilizes media research to analyze the effectiveness and track trends of all NBC Sports properties and digital holdings.  Prior to his work at NBC, Kelley worked as an Assistant Research Executive for advertising research firm, Millward Brown. Outside of his digital analysis work, Kelley works as a freelance screenwriter, as he optioned a feature-length script to Picture Machine Productions in November 2010 and has since been hired for three feature length re-writes by Boychuk Films.

Lauren Carmody, Strategic services account director, Adams & KNight

(Session 5) Carmody has been developing and executing communications plans for clients for more than 10 years. Before joining Adams & Knight, Lauren was a vice president in the financial communications group at CJP Communications. She earned her stripes working on media relations, expert positioning and  thought-leadership development for financial services, insurance and consumer accounts. She has an ear for listening to clients and identifying “the story,” and the persistence to make reporters understand why they should cover it. Carmody holds an MBA and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Public Relations from Quinnipiac.

Corey Rogers, VP OF DEVELOPMENT
SEPTEMBER FILMS, USA

(Session 6) Rogers recently joined September Films USA from 44 Blue Productions where, as the Director of Development, he oversaw the development of non-fiction series including House of Consignment (VH-1) and Swanderosa (CMT), Married to the Army: Alaska and contributed to the development of docu-series and formats sold to a wide range of American networks including OWN and Investigation Discovery, as well as projects for History, Animal Planet, TNT, Style and Fuel. During his three years with 44 Blue Productions he also played a creative role in projects executive produced by Mark Wahlberg, Rob Lowe, and Dick Wolf.

Nick Pietruszkiewicz,
EDITOR, espn.com, FRONT PAGE

(Session 7) Nick Pietruszkiewicz is a 2000 graduate of the University of Maryland. He spent nearly two years working as a contributor for The Washington Post while in school and for a time after. After that, he spent seven years at The Northwest Herald just outside Chicago. While he spent time covering everything from preps to colleges to the Bulls, his primary work was covering the Cubs and White Sox. He won four APSE national awards and two Illinois Press association awards during his time there. He's spent the past four years at ESPN, serving first as baseball editor in charge of night coverage and social media, creating the Baseball Tonight Facebook page and implementing Twitter into Baseball Tonight. Recently he moved to Page 1, helping in the planning and implementation of coverage on the front page of ESPN.com.

steve bodakowski, senior account executive, prosek partners

(Session 2) Steve Bodakowski is a Senior Account Executive at Prosek Partners where he focuses on financial services clients. His responsibilities include: account management, planning and media relations for a wide range of clients. Steve joined Prosek in the Summer of 2010. Steve also co-leads Prosek's executive training program focused on high-level senior executives and CEOs. The program includes both media and presentation training. Prior to joining Prosek he served as a television reporter for ABC in the Mid-West where he covered a wide variety of topics including higher education and military affairs. Steve is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

(Session 7) Sean Patrick Bowley is the interactive sports producer for Hearst CT Media Group and a 13-year, award-winning veteran high school sports reporter, editor in Connecticut. He spent the five years as the head high school sports writer/columnist for Connecticut Post, and the last three as the online sports producer for the entire Hearst Connecticut Media family.

(Session 5) Weingrod is a digital strategy consultant with over 15 years experience building successful Web presences, digital and social marketing strategies. He has established and led digital departments and has hands-on expertise with SEO and PPC, analytics, online media, mobile, social and web development processes. Weingrod works with brands and businesses to build participation and drive innovation and creativity through the use of Lean and Agile methodologies. 

NIKKI LEVINE, PLAYBOY PRODUCTIONS

(Session 6) Nikki Levine graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2004. Moving to Hollywood after graduating, Levine worked in all areas of production and teamed up with her QU peers that had also taken the big move. Levine excelled as a production assistant and was quickly promoted to an assistant director, production manager, line producer and producer. Since leaving the East coast, Levine has maintained solid relationships with companies like Warner Brothers, MTV Networks, Fox Networks, and Playboy Entertainment. Currently, Levine works as a freelance producer for Playboy Plus Entertainment in Burbank, Calif.
